Folkes Properties
During construction of Britannia
Park on the adjacent site Folkes Properties received a positive
enquiry from Scottish & Newcastle for a regional sales
and distribution centre, the company needing to relocate from
Dudley to a larger and more modern premises.
The building comprised a storage unit of 4180 m2, which incorporated
an air conditioned cold storage facility and 1100 m2 of offices.
The design of the storage unit followed the general theme
of Britannia Park with the office design being given a stronger
external emphasis due to its size and location adjacent to
a major new traffic island. To conform with this criteria
it was decided that the two storey office facade be constructed
using facing brickwork and dark tinted glass set in arched
panels divided by brick piers.
Internally the offices were fully fitted out to suit the tenants
requirements incorporating full computer access flooring,
comfort cooling, conference facilities and hospitality suite.
The development new forms the main hub for Scottish &
Newcastle in the Midlands area.
